VDZ+A recently was awarded the design for the upcoming King George Station Transit Plaza. Our staff will work closely with the City of Surrey, Translink, and the adjacent development to create an integrated plaza and safe, secure zone for all users. We are excited to continue to assist in the development and implementation of mass transit options throughout the City and the Fraser Valley.
VDZ+A has been selected by the city of Coquitlam to consult on two prominent parks in the Burke mountain area of the city. These two parks represent two of the most substantial public green spaces in the city and will undergo upgrades and improvements in 2014.
VDZ+A has been asked to facilitate a public process with members of the community and key stakeholder groups. Upon completion of the community consultation, a thorough design process will begin, concluding with a construction tender in 2014.
VDZ+A is thrilled to have this opportunity to work with the city of Coquitlam and provide amazing new park amenities to area residents. Habitats creation, and protection of flora and fauna will be amongst our key challenges and objectives for both projects.

The Edmonds Aquatic centre was completed and open to the public this month. VDZ+A worked with the city of Burnaby and prime consultants - CEI architecture and Interiors, to complete the overall site masterplan, and public realm.
The city of Burnaby has engaged VDZ+A to design a public town centre plaza on the west side of the Aquatic centre - that will serve as a major festival and public meeting space for the community of Edmonds/Kingsway. The plaza includes a large hard surfaced area with flexible social space for markets, performance, and community gatherings. The Plaza will be the major staging area for events within "Richmond Park". A separate design process is underway to rejuvenate Richmond Park.
The Project is currently out to tender with construction slated for the Fall and continuing on into Spring 2014. VDZ+A's project manager is Mr. Mark Synan.
